Volunteers Cleaning

Purpose

The purpose of DOVIA is to share needs and resources concerning all aspects of:

1. Volunteer Management

2. Development of working relationships among groups and individuals

3. Education and training for all who support volunteerism

4. Networking among volunteer agencies

History

The Sioux Empire DOVIA chapter was organized in 1988 by a steering committee of five volunteer managers from various human service agencies. Nearly 40 years later, DOVIA has grown to include a network of over 50 volunteer engagement professionals from organizations including Sanford, Avera, Feeding South Dakota, Junior Achievement, Girl Scouts, and Lutheran Social Services.

Currently, an executive committee of officers leads Sioux Empire DOVIA. Monthly meetings are held at various locations throughout the Sioux Empire, allowing members to network and engage in professional development.
